Utica Man Accused Of Assaulting Three Month Old Child

A Utica man is facing assault charges for allegedly causing severe injuries to a three-month old child.

21-year old Deshaun Cavoly is charged with three counts of felony assault.

Utica Police say it was initially reported that the infant has sustained injuries from a fall.

Police say an investigation revealed the fall was initiated by Cavoly, who is the child's father.

The child was brought to a Syracuse hospital, where an examination determined the child had suffered injuries that were older and at different levels of healing.

Cavoly is being held in the Oneida County Jail without bail.
