Utica Man Arrested For Attempted Robbery With A Knife

A Utica man is under arrest for the alleged attempted robbery of the Dollar General Store on Mohawk Street.

According to Utica Police, Anthony Lester entered the store, approached the cashier, displayed a knife and demanded money.

An employee familiar with Lester confronted him and after threatening the employee with the knife, Lester fled.

The police were immediately called and a short time later responding units located Lester a short distance away and detained him.

The employee positively identified Lester, who was transported to the Utica Police Department where he was charged with Attempted Robbery, Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Menacing.
