Utica Man Arrested For Firing Shots In The Streets Of Yorkville
A Utica man has been arrested after allegedly firing several shots in the streets Yorkville.
Police say they were called to the area of Highland Ave. after several calls came in reporting shots fired.
Witness accounts claim the man fired several rounds towards Tabor Place and then fled on foot. A description of the suspect was given to authorities and Utica Police later located the man and took him into custody on Oriskany Boulevard.
An investigation revealed 26-year-old James Scutchins of Utica encountered his ex-girlfriend and a male companion in a vehicle in the driveway of her residence.
As Scutchins approached the vehicle, the driver exited the driveway and drove down Tabor. That's when police say Scutchins began firing several rounds at the fleeing vehicle, striking it once.
