Utica Man Charged In Hit And Run

A Utica man is facing several charges after allegedly hitting a 13-year old boy with his car.

It happened on the 500 block of Wetmore Street on January 20th.

Utica Police say 19-year old Tadaruis Newkirk is charged with assault, reckless endangerment and harassment.

Newkirk is also accused of striking his girlfriend, who is the hit-and-run victim's sister, during an argument prior to the collision.

The boy who was hit by the car suffered non-life threatening injuries.
