A Utica man is facing several charges following a "shots fired" incident Monday afternoon on the 1300 block of Lincoln Avenue in which a home was struck by gunfire.

Utica Police say 19-year old Torrence Bond fled on foot as officers arrived on the scene.

He was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.

Following interviews and surveillance footage, police were able to charge Bond with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

Bond is also facing charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance for allegedly discarding contraband during the foot pursuit.

The 1300 block of Lincoln Ave was the site of a "shots fired" incident last week in which a 10-year old girl was hit by gunfire while sleeping in her bed.

Police say at this point, the two incidents do not appear to be related
