Utica Man Facing Drug And Weapons Charges

A Utica man is facing felony charges following a domestic dispute on South Street.

Utica Police say 38-year old Jonathan Hines allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face during the altercation.

During the investigation, police learned that a handgun, ammunition and drugs were likely inside the residence.

Police say they found a Glock 9mm handgun, a loaded magazine, a military style ballistic vest and felony weight marijuana packaged in sealed vacuum bags.

Hines is charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of marijuana.

Hines was the victim of a shooting that happened in December of last year.

35-year old Brandwell Watkins of Utica was arrested and the case is proceeding through the court system.
