A Utica man is facing several charges after allegedly violating an order of protection.

Norman Hamlin was arrested at approximately 2:25am this morning, April 2, 2014, after police were called to a Genesee Street home for a domestic dispute.

A woman said that she and Hamlin, her boyfriend, had been arguing and that he grabbed her, dragged her off of her bed, and tried to strangle her.  The woman had an active order of protection against Hamlin.

The 44-year old Utica resident was charged with criminal contempt (a felony) criminal obstruction of breathing, marijuana possession, and harassment.
