BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) — A 32-year-old upstate New York man has pleaded guilty in federal court to sex trafficking of a child.

Authorities say Edward Tilden of Utica was among nine people arrested in February 2012 in connection with sex trafficking in central New York that involved a minor. He admitted Thursday helping prostitute the victim in exchange for money and drugs.

The victim was 16 at the time.

Police say the prostitution ring used an online classified ad to offer sex with the victim and transported her to various locations including hotels.

The arrests followed a nine-month investigation.

Tilden is in jail. He's scheduled to be sentenced in September and faces 10 years to life in prison.
