Utica Man Pleads Not Guilty To Murder, Arson

A Utica man accused of murder and arson in connection with the death of his grandmother entered a not guilty plea in city court Monday.

Andre Anderson, 23, is accused of stabbing his grandmother and setting her West Street apartment on fire in January. The 68-year-old victim died from her injuries several days later.

Anderson was ultimately found in the parking lot of the Happy Journey Motel on North Genesee Street and was taken into custody without incident. He's due back in court next month.
