Utica Man Pulls A Machete On Officer

Utica, NY (WIBX) - A Utica man who brandished a machete at a police officer is being charged with a felony.

Utica Police responded to a call to help a man who was trying to get his things out of his old apartment.

Once inside, the man's former roommate told both the man and the officer to get out of the house and then allegedly pointed a machete at the officer. The officer pulled out his gun and the knife was dropped.

When 28-year old Luke Harper was taken into custody another knife was found on him.  He is being charged with criminal mischief and criminal possession of a weapon, along with menacing a police officer.
