If you are not certain whether or not your car seat is installed properly you can get it checked today in Utica

Officers will host a child seat inspection station at the Utica Police Department in the public parking lot closest to Cornelia Street today, July 3, 2015 from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

According to a written post from the UPD, "Anyone with questions on how to properly install a child seat can stop down and let a certified child seat technician help them."

No appointments are needed and police say that there are a limited number of seats available for parents and guardians whose child safety seats are expired or are in poor condition.  Those will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis.
