Utica Police Investigating Kossuth Avenue Shooting

Utica Police are investigating an incident in which a man was shot by an unknown person.

The first incident occurred late Thursday night on the 1000 block of Kossuth Avenue. Police say, a male victim walked into the Emergency Room at St. Elizabeth's with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The man told officers he heard the shots and then was struck. He then drove himself to the hospital and was transported to Upstate in Syracuse for non-life threatening injuries.

The incident is being investigated by the Major Crimes Unit and Criminal Investigations Division.
