Utica Police K9 Receives New Protective Vest

The Utica Police Department's K9 "Wolf" has new body armor, thanks to an anonymous donation.

The bullet and stab protective vest comes from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c charity located in East Taunton, MA whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States.

The vest was sponsored by an Anonymous Sponsor and embroidered with the inscription “Gifted by Hasday- Be Safe Be Strong”.

The donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $950.

Each vest has a value between $1,744 to $2,283.
