Utica Schools Put On Lockout Following Shooting On Conkling Ave
Utica Police are investigating a shooting incident that happened around 10:30 this morning on the 1500 hundred block of Conkling Avenue.
As a result of the shooting, all schools in the Utica School District have been placed on lockout until further notice.
Lockouts are used to secure building and grounds during incidents that pose an imminent concern outside of the school.
Police say the shooting victim is being treated at the hospital for a non-life threatening injury. They say the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and they do not believe there is any further threat to the community.
