Utica Teen Charged In Armed Robbery

A Utica teen has been arrested in an armed robbery that happened on the 1500 block of Whitesboro Street.

Utica Police say 16-year old Jahquan Whitehurst allegedly approached a group of people at around 11:45 Wednesday night, displayed a handgun and ordered them to empty their pockets.

Police say Whitehurst fled when the victims showed they had no property on them.

Whitehurst was spotted along Erie Street and was taken into custody following a chase through some yards.

Officers located a discarded gun, which turned out to be a BB gun.
