Utica Woman Allegedly Assaulted By Grandson Dies

The Utica woman who was allegedly stabbed by her grandson has died of her injuries.

Utica Police say 68-year old Freddie McKinney, who had been in critical condition at a Syracuse hospital, died on Wednesday.

McKinney also suffered serious burns as a result of a fire that was started in her West Street apartment.

Police say charges against 23-year old Andre Anderson will be upgraded to second-degree murder and more charges are likely.
