Utica Woman Arrested After Car Chase And Crash

A Utica woman who a passenger in a car that was allegedly stolen in New Hartford and then crashed following a police chase has been arrested.

Utica Police say 21-year old Serena Dinger was taken into custody after the vehicle crashed into a guardrail on the Burrstone Road exit off of Route 12.

A man who was driving the car fled the scene and ran into a wooded area.  Officers were unable to find the driver.

Police say the vehicle is related to a burglary investigation being handled by New Hartford Police.

Dinger was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
