Visitor To Marcy Correctional Facility Arrested For Possessing Pot

An Albany area woman was arrested by State Police after allegedly attempting to bring marijuana into the Marcy Correctional Facility.

Officials say Tara Martin, 28, of Menands, attempted to bring about 40 grams of marijuana with her into the prison to give to an inmate.

Martin was charged with Promoting Prison Contraband and Criminal Possession of Marijuana, then sent to Oneida County Jail on $2,500 bail.

State Police worked with the New York State Department of Corrections Inspector Generals Office on the case.
