WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) — West Point cadets are starting their annual summer training exercises.

The U.S. Military Academy says residents near the Hudson Valley installation can expect to occasionally hear the likes of helicopters and artillery fire now through mid-August.

Cadets will be training in infantry operations, aviation operations and survival skills, among other things.

West Point says noise levels will be sporadic with increased activity during air assault school in June and during specialized training operations in July.
