Woman Accused Of Stealing $16,000 From Former Employer

A Herkimer County woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from her former employer

State Police say 51-year old Debra Claus of Salisbury Center is charged with grand larceny.

Claus is accused of stealing over $16,000 from Peter Smith Trucking.

Police say Claus, who was employed as a secretary and book keeper for the company, cashed business checks and deposited them into her personal account.

The investigation is continuing.
