WEST SENECA, N.Y. (AP) — A highway department employee for a suburban Buffalo town has died from injuries suffered while on the job last week.

Family members say 53-year-old Donald Schultz of West Seneca was clearing out storm sewer drains on Tuesday when he got out of the sewer maintenance truck he was operating. Relatives say he was then run over by the vehicle.

His family says he was run over when the truck rolled over him. Schultz, a father of six, died from his injuries Saturday at a Buffalo hospital.

West Seneca officials aren't discussing the accident. Supervisor Sheila Meegan said Schultz was a longtime, dedicated town employee.

Police are investigating the accident.
