WIBX learned this morning that the Utica Police Department might be moving its public information page from Facebook to Google+, and the department is now confirming that transition is official.
Utica councilman Frank Vescera believes the Utica Police Facebook page was taken down prematurely, with no discussion about how to make it better before simply deactivating the page.
The Utica Police Department has maintained a popular Facebook profile that showcased the good work the department has done. They pass along important information to the public and reported on arrests made by the officers. But now that Facebook page is gone.
