A 12-year-old boy is recovering after being struck by a truck while riding his bicycle.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the intersection of Center and Charles Streets in the Town of Verona just after 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Their investigation revealed 48-year-old Nicholas Anderalli of Sherrill was driving his GMC Sierra eastbound on Center when he collided with the boy.

Deputies determined, Anderalli merged into the left lane attempting to give the bicyclist room to travel, but the boy veered into the left lane hitting the front of his truck.

The boy was transported to SUNY Upstate Medical Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and no tickets have been issued at this time.
