The Oneida County Sheriff's Office responded to a serious one-car crash early Saturday morning on Route 26 in the Town of Vernon.

Officials say, upon arrival some of the occupants were located outside the vehicle preventing deputies from immediately being able to identify the driver of that vehicle.

All occupants were transported by ambulance to area hospitals for serious injuries.

Those involved included 16-year-old Katelyn Griffith of Remsen, 17-year-old Christian Lasher of Vernon, 17-year-old Jaden Davies of Rome, 17-year-old Tobias Kampf of Vernon and 18-year-old Jacob Lewis of Verona.

The Sheriff's Office is working to reconstruct the accident and identify the driver of the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
