A Quick Turn and Near Miss Result in DWI Charges Times Two
A weekend DWI arrest was made more interesting for two Utica police officers after they were nearly hit by a passing car.
UPD Officers Charles Parkosewich and Dzenan Sabonovic were making a drunk driving arrest near Bleecker and Mohawk Streets 24-year old Max Josue Ayala-Soto, driving a tan Oldsmobile, allegedly almost hit Officer Sabonovic and the police car after making a turn around the corner too fast.
Another officer in the area stopped the car driven by Ayala-Soto. Police say Ayala-Soto appeared drunk. He was given a chemical test which allegedly resulted in a blood alcohol reading of .16%.
Ayala-Soto is now facing multiple DWI charges, making an improper turn, and driving without a license.
