The Parkway Center, the City of Utica and the Oneida County Office for the Aging are teaming up for an adult swim program for those 50 and older this summer.

The swim program will be held at Seymour Pool in North Utica on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning July 1st.

The hours will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The program is an initiative of the Oneida County Livable Communities project to engage older adults in using city recreational facilities that promote health and wellness.

Kelly Walters, executive director of the Parkway Center, is excited to facilitate the program, saying "Swimming is great exercise and by opening a specific time for older adults to use the city pools, which are traditionally used by youth, encourages health and wellness for all ages."
