Washington, DC (WIBX) - While almost eighty percent of Americans say that the presidential campaign is important, a majority say that it is "too long and dull" and has been "too negative."

The new survey conducted by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press show that both Republicans and Democrats expect the campaign to be "exhausting."  However, 60% of Republicans say that the campaign is dull compared with 55% of Democrats.  The important thing to note here is that more Republicans are losing interest and more Democrats are gaining interest as the campaign progresses, according to a similar survey conducted in late March.

Eighty-three percent of Democrats, eighty-five percent of Republicans, and seventy-seven percent of Independents say that the race is important, so they are preparing to be bored.
