Area Youths Get Police Summer Camp Send Off

Madison County, NY (WIBX) - Ten Madison County youngsters boarded a charter bus yesterday to take part in this year's New York State Sheriffs' Association Institute's Summer Camp. The camp is in its 36th year of providing underprivileged youths an opportunity to go away for a week of outdoor recreational fun, combined with teachings about good citizenship.

The kids--about 900 of them from across the state--learn about boat and bike safety, and take part in youth oriented programs, such as DARE. The Summer Camp is located about 2-hours East of Utica near Penn Yan, NY on Keuka Lake.
