Two ATV riders are in hot water after failing to comply with directions from an Oneida County Sheriff Deputy.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the deputy attempted to stop an ATV being driven on O'Brien Road in the Town of Forestport.

The Deputy observed the ATV operating at a high rate of speed and recklessly passing other vehicles. The deputy then discontinued his pursuit and an investigation ensued.

Several local residents helped to identify where the ATV came from and eventually the rider was identified as 20-year-old Corey Cook of Poland and his passenger was identified as 21-year-old Catania Murabito.

Both individuals turned themselves into the Sheriff's Office and Cook received 5 tickets including Reckless Operation, Failure to Comply, No Helmet, Unregistered Vehicle, Operating on a Roadway. Murabito was issued a ticket for not wearing a helmet.
