A few weeks back, the shortlist of directors up for 'Snow White and the Huntsman 2' was made public and it looks like Universal has now made their choice: Frank Darabont, best known for the much beloved 'The Shawshank Redemption,' is currently in talks to helm the film.

Though 'Pacific Rim' only made a little over a hundred million dollars domestically, the film had not only passionate fans, but a much larger audience internationally, which helped bring the $200 million project into a place where today director Guillermo del Toro announced that 'Pacific Rim 2' will hit theaters April 7, 2017.

Considering the global success of 2011's 'Bridesmaids' (the film made nearly $300 Million worldwide), it's surprising that Kristen Wiig hasn't been courted to lead more comedies like her costar Melissa McCarthy. Joel and Ethan Coen's upcoming movie 'Hail, Caesar!' has not only landed a distribution deal with Universal, it's also netted Coen vets George Clooney and Josh Brolin to star in a tale of Hollywood and the tabloids of the '50s.

Earlier today when the 'Cliffhanger' reboot was announced, we joked that Hollywood was turning to action movies (and seemingly specifically action movies from the nineties) as the new hot property to remake/reboot. Now there's word that 'Stargate' will not only be rebooted by its original creators Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin, but the plan is to turn the reboot into a trilogy.

'Forrest Gump,' which turns 20 this year, is about to be rolled back into theaters to celebrate. Paramount has announced that the film will screen in IMAX auditoriums starting September 5, and have also moved up 'SpongeBob SquarePants 2' from February 13 to February 6, 2015.
