Authorities Search For Missing Boater On Chautauqua Lake

ASHVILLE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities are looking for a missing boater on New York's Chautauqua Lake.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office says crews resumed searching Sunday morning for the man, who vanished Saturday. The search is centered near the communities of Ashville and Lakewood in the southern part of the lake in western New York.

Authorities got word of the boater's disappearance around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The sheriff's office says it appears the man may have jumped into the water for a swim.

Authorities haven't released his name.

Several other local agencies have helped with the search.
