Boilermaker Walk Adds Team Competition

The Boilermaker is adding a new twist to the three-mile walk held on the Saturday of Boilermaker Weekend -- a team competition.

All teams must register by June 22nd and there is a five person per team minimum.

The team with the most registered walkers will win a plaque and have their team name engraved on a trophy that will displayed at the Boilemaker offices.

“We think this is a wonderful way to increase participation in the walk” said Marie Seiselmyer, Walk Director. “Who doesn’t enjoy the opportunity to have a stroll with family and friends?”

The Walmart three-mile walk will take place at the Masonic Care Community in Utica on July 9th and there's a $20 registration fee.

Proceeds from the walk will go to "Footsteps for Finley", a fundraising platform to support Congenital Muscular Dystrophy.
