Boilermaker Wheelchair Challenge Winner Gets Racing Wheelchair

The Boilermaker Road Race and Sitrin Health Care presented a racing wheelchair to Mike Smithson of Syracuse on Tuesday.

Smithson was the winner of the 2016 Sitrin Wheelchair Challenge.

A custom-built racing wheelchair is awarded to a Boilermaker participant who completes the 15K race in a standard wheelchair in under 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Smithson finished the 2016 race in 1 hour and 49 minutes to become the 28th challenger to win a racing wheelchair.
