Congressman Anthony Brindisi and his wife Erica visited the Sherburne Public Library on Wednesday to deliver books and meet with library staff.

Brindisi launched a program in March to bring more books to library shelves across the 22nd Congressional District.

"Brindisi Bookworms" takes advantage of the Library of Congress Surplus Book Program, which allows members of Congress to donate the Library's extra books to schools, libraries and community centers.

“Books are such an important part of life,” said Erica and Anthony Brindisi. “Whether it is reading a bedtime story to a child, opening up a cookbook for a new recipe, or heading down to the local library to research a new hobby, books allow for a lifetime of learning and education.”

Organizations interested in participating in the program can e-mail Brindisi's Office at brindisi.scheduling@mail.house.gov.
