Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi was honored on Tuesday with the Partners in Quality Award in a ceremony at the Masonic Care Community in Utica.

The award was presented by LeadingAge New York and recognizes Brindisi for his work to enable Adult Care Facilities in New York to continue caring for recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

“Ensuring the best quality of care for the aging is one of the most important issues in the State of New York.  In recent years, it is getting more and more difficult for facilities like the Masonic Home in Utica to care for their residents who receive SSI. In response to these concerns, I’m sponsoring legislation in the State Assembly which will increase the SSI payment for each eligible individual by $7.50 a day over a two year period,” Brindisi said.

The organization picks public officials for the Partners in Quality Award who work to provide the highest quality of care for elderly and disabled people in New York.
