Congressman Anthony Brindisi honored Central New York Vietnam-era veterans on Thursday.

Brindisi held a pinning ceremony at the Madison County War Veterans Memorial in Wampsville.

He was joined by local elected officials, Veterans advocates and New York National Guard Brigadier General John Andonie.

Brindisi, a member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, gave pins to more than 60 local Veterans.

“Vietnam Era Veterans courageously served their country, and they deserve to be recognized for their bravery,” Brindisi said. “Honoring and taking care of our Veterans is an issue that transcends political parties, and the great turnout today shows our community is always willing to stand behind our Veterans. This pin is a small token of our appreciation for the sacrifices they made.”
