A podium, chairs and even constituents were there, but Governor Andrew Cuomo was a no-show.

Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi, unhappy with the Governor's decision to skip the Utica area for his regional State of the State Addresses, had invited Cuomo to make a last-minute stop in his district.

“Just last month, residents of the Mohawk Valley were rocked by the news that plans by AMS to build computer chip fabrication plant at the Marcy Nano Center site are off the table.  This is a project the Governor has promised our area, and he was here when the news was good to hold a groundbreaking for the project.  Now, in light of this setback, it’s time for the Governor to rip the band aid off and visit the Utica area,” Brindisi said.

Brindisi held his own event at the State Office Building in Utica today, outlining his 2017 priorities for the state, including education funding, economic development and bringing ride sharing services like Uber to upstate New York.

Cuomo wrapped up his three-day State of the State tour in Syracuse and Albany today.
