Bus Overturns, Two Dead, 48 Injured in Delaware
BEAR, Del. (AP) — Authorities say a second person has died after a tour bus crash in Delaware that left 48 others injured.
Delaware State Police said early Monday that a second woman had died. They said the 30-year-old woman from Istanbul, Turkey suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at a hospital late Sunday night. Her name was not immediately released.
Officials said the accident did not involve other vehicles and happened around 4:20 p.m. Sunday.
State Police said that there were 49 passengers on the bus when it overturned while negotiating a curve in an off-ramp. Authorities said one woman, a 54-year-old passenger from New York, was pinned under the bus and killed at the scene.
Authorities said the sightseeing group had been traveling from Washington, D.C., to New York.
