Camden Wins Tap Water Contest at Boonville-Oneida County Fair
Who has the best tasting tap water in Oneida County?
The Oneida County Health Department says it's the Village of Camden, which won the 2018 Tap Water Taste Contest at the Boonville-Oneida County Fair.
Five water systems participated.
The Village of Camden received the most points, with the Deansboro Water District receiving the second most points.
The contest has been held throughout New York State for the past 21 years.
It promotes awareness of the value of public drinking water.
Oneida County Health Department, Director of Health, Phyllis Ellis congratulates the Village of Camden, “We congratulate the Village of Camden and we recognize all of our public water systems in their efforts to provide safe drinking water to the residents and visitors of Oneida County. Safe drinking water is one of our most vital resources. It is due in large part to the hard work and dedication of the many water operation specialists that our tap water is inexpensive and safe to drink.”
Camden water will advance to the August 10, 2018 Regional Competition to be held at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo at Burnett Park in Syracuse.
The winner of this competition will advance to the Final Contest at the New York State Fair.
