Canastota Man Crashes Into Home After Apparent Medical Emergency

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is investigating a one-car crash in the Town of Vernon.

According to Sheriff Maciol, the accident occurred just before 4:30 p.m. on Friday on Route 5 near Youngs Road.

Deputies say the vehicle being driven by 66-year-old Stephen Jackson left the roadway and struck a residence at 4902 State Route 5 causing minor damage.

At this time Jackson is listed in serious condition at Oneida City Hospital. Authorities believe the crash and Jackson's condition appeared to have been caused by a medical emergency.
