Central New York Woman Admits Sexually Abusing Children
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — A 48-year-old central New York woman has pleaded guilty to three counts of sexually abusing children as young as 9 months old to produce child pornography over a period of years.
Federal prosecutors say Tammy Martin, of Carthage, in Jefferson County, admitted Monday that she and another person engaged three young children in sexual acts on multiple occasions between 2001 and 2008. The victims were 9 months to 10 years old.
Prosecutors say hundreds of image files of the abuse were created.
Martin faces a mandatory minimum term of 15 years in prison for each of the three counts of sexual exploitation of a child.
She'll be sentenced in federal court in Syracuse on Jan. 8.
