OSWEGO, N.Y. (AP) — The Oswego County Humane Society is offering a $1,000 reward to help catch the person who shot a cat with a BB gun.

Owner Robert Alexander tells The Post-Standard of Syracuse that his 8-year-old cat, named Waldo, was blinded in one eye by the attack and has limited sight in the other.

Alexander says his cat returned home one evening recently with an eye injury and was taken to a veterinarian for treatment.

Jo Piersma of the Humane Society says the vet discovered that a BB had traveled through one eye and had become lodged behind the other. Piersma says the hope is that the reward prompts someone to come forward with information.
