Chenango County Teen Charged With Second Degree Murder

A grand jury has indicted a Smithville teen on a charge of second-degree murder.

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office says 18-year old Cody Coleman allegedly shot and killed 16-year old Amelia Wakefield on May 3rd at a home in Smithfield.

Coleman is also charged with criminal use of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in their investigation by State Police and the Village of Greene Police Department.
