A child is in critical condition as what is being described as a "serious" snowplow accident remains under investigation.

Taberg resident Monica Cox was driving on State Route 69 in Annsville when State Police say she lost control of her car and ran into an Oneida County snowplow.  One of her passengers, 14-year old Elijah Tucker of Camden is said to have suffered severe internal injuries and underwent surgery.

As of 4:05am today he is listed in critical condition at Upstate University Medical Center.

The driver also received internal injuries as well. Two other passengers in the car, Monika Cox's 18-year old daughter Tracy Cox of Taberg, and 17-year old Taylor Mulvaney of Camden, were also injured.  Tracy broke her wrist and ankle and Taylor's face was cut.

The operator of the snowplow, Robert Smith of Boonville, was not hurt.
