Utica, NY (WIBX) - Do you want to make sure your child's car seat is safe and properly installed?

The New Hartford Police Department will be teaming up with Faxton St. Luke's campus security officers for the 2nd Annual Child Passenger Safety Program to ensure that all vehicles with child car seats are properly installed.

The team will be inspecting vehicles on July 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the hospital's campus on Champlain Ave in New Hartford to make sure the seats are safe and properly installed.

“This event was very successful last year and we appreciated the support and involvement from law enforcement in our community," said Steve Magnussen, manager of Security Operations at Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare. "We are hoping for a good turnout this year."

If you would like to attend this event, but are unable, call the New Hartford Police Department at (315) 724-7111 to schedule an appointment to have your car seat inspected.

All unsafe seats will be installed and provided free of charge under a New York State grant.
