A classic Utica sausage recipe is back on the market this week and just in time for the holidays.  Dan Falatico Jr. has been making his father's legendary Italian sausage for several years, and now it's available at Avico Cash and Carry on Broad Street in Utica.

"It's all about the seasoning and it's lean so you get less oil in the pan," said Falatico Jr., whose father's recipe was considered one of the best in the area 30 years ago.

Falatico opened shop at Avico two weeks ago and he's currently producing about 200 pounds of sausage a week by hand. Falatico is currently making Hot, Medium, Sweet and Sicilian rope sausage. Falatico Meatballs are also now available at Avico. He says his sausage patties will be available next year for grilling.

Avico is located at 729 Broad Street in Utica.
