Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says a Clinton man was arrested for DWi after hitting a parked Sheriff's patrol vehicle.

It happened early this morning on Route 5 just north of Burrstone Road.

The patrol vehicle was parked near the curb of the right lane with its emergency lights flashing.

Deputies say 25-year old Robert Rowland collided with the vehicle, sending it crashing into a guard rail.

No one was injured.

In addition to the DWI charge, Rowland was also charged with violating the "Move Over Act."

The law requires motorists to reduce speed and move into the other lane when approaching an emergency vehicle stopped along the road with its lights on.
