Popular Central New York Italian Restaurant Announces It’s Moving North
Not even a year after opening its doors in Central New York, an upscale Italian restaurant is ready for an exciting new chapter in a different location.
Great news to fans of the Mohawk Valley's restaurant scene!
While a popular Italian restaurant in Clinton is shutting its doors at its original location, that's because they are undergoing a transformation of sorts.
Maggiolino's, which opened along the Seneca Turnpike in March 2024, is moving north.
Owner Justin Maggiolino said on social media the restaurant is returning to its roots in the City of Rome. His parents own Hobby Hill Farm Sales, making this a big win for the Copper City.
The new location, which is a roughly 30-minute drive from its current building, was updated on their official Facebook page to 8727 Turin Road in Rome.
The restaurant gained popularity with their delicious homemade pasta, nightly chef specials, and dishes that celebrated the secret Maggiolino family recipes.
The move was confirmed on their Facebook via various comments and, while the owner did not reveal an exact opening date, the new Maggiolino's is slated to restart sometime in March.
So here's what we know.
The owners told Townsquare Media that they are rebranding as Maggiolino's Pizzeria once they open next month. While their focus will be on serving up a delicious variety of pizzas, that doesn't mean your favorite items on their old menu are disappearing!
The owners confirmed they will continue to serve their homerun hits, and they will also offer something new: drinks! The owners applied for a liquor license and will be able to serve alcoholic beverages about six weeks after their opening date.
The restaurant will not just cater to the Rome community, their new location will allow hungry snowmobilers to stop in for a bite as there's a trail that runs nearby.
Overall, this is wonderful news for the Mohawk Valley, which has been handed some tough business news from the community.
