Governor Coumo today announced a $6.7 million federal College Access Challenge Grant to New York State to increase college enrollment among low-income students across the State. The New York State Higher Education Services Corporation will administer the funds through a competitive statewide process to schools, non-profit agencies, and community based organizations.

In the last two academic years, the funds have provided services to more than 124,000 New Yorkers.

"New York State is continuing to provide critical tutoring and assistance to help low-income students get into college and realize greater opportunity for their future," Governor Cuomo said. "Over the last five years, this funding has helped ensure that the dream of higher education is available to all New York students, and I thank our partners in the federal government for this important investment in our students and families."
