Oneonta, NY (WIBX) - Governor Andrew Cuomo is providing some relief to communities still rebuilding from Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.

$61 million will be made available to 25 counties, including more than $166,000 to Herkimer county, to help cover repair costs, including infrastructure repairs, stream mitigation and other projects.

Usually, FEMA covers 75 percent of the total repair costs, but the state and localities must pay for the rest. In this case, the state will cover all 25 percent of the leftover costs.

State Senator James Seward is still pushing for more flood recovery measures. He is sponsoring legislation that would offer income tax credits to homeowners sustaining damage from last year's storms.
